PHS Debate Team Reaches Finals For Sixth Year in a Row

At the end of the semi-final debate round of the Lehigh Valley Interscholastic Debate Association, the Pennridge team was tied for second place with Kutztown High Schjool and required a debate-off. The one-time, winner-take-all debate took place on April 23 at Northern Lehigh High School. Pennridge won with at 2-1 decision and proceeded to the debate finals for the sixth year in a row again Salisbury High School.

The all-senior team of Courtney Landis, Sophie Saveriano, Sydney Lee and James Morrison participated in the Lehigh Valley Interscholastic Debate Association finals and had its best debate of the season. The scoring for the exchange was very close but, regrettably, Pennridge lost in the finals.

Several of our seniors accepted the team awards for the season, including 1st place in the regular season and finals runner-up trophies.

Congratulations on an amazing season, you make us Pennridge Proud!
