Pennridge High School and STARS will present six performances of “Shrek the Musical” over two weekends in late March and early April. The shows will be presented in the high school auditorium at 1228 North Fifth Street in Perkasie.

Based on the Oscar-winning DreamWorks Animation film, “Shrek the Musical” follows the adventures of the ogre Shrek, a wisecracking Donkey, Princess Fiona, Lord Farquaad, and everyone’s favorite fairy tale creatures. The Tony Award-winning fairy tale adventure is directed by Tad A. Brannon, with musical direction by Samantha Pasquale Brannon.
In the story, Shrek and his loyal sidekick, Donkey, set off on a quest to rescue the feisty, beautiful Princess Fiona. On their life-changing journey, they meet a short-tempered bad guy, a gang of fairy tale misfits, a cookie with an attitude, and a very large dragon. Can an unlikely hero help each of the creatures celebrate what makes them special and find their happily-ever-after?
Tickets, which are $10 for all seats, are available at the door 45 minutes before show time or in the lobby of the auditorium from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. on March 14, 16, 21, 23, 27, and 28 and April 6. Tickets can also be purchased by sending an email request to email@example.com.
STARS is a self-funded volunteer organization that offers theater and educational opportunities to hundreds of students in the Pennridge School District each year. “Shrek the Musical” features a cast of nearly 60 students, with an additional 30 students handling backstage operations, lighting and sound, set building, costumes, hair and makeup.
