Sarah Malik, a former Central student, offered to come in and speak to our current 8th graders in STEM 2 classes and share how this class in 8th grade helped shape her career path to mechanical and business engineering at Drexel University.

T.A.K.E.S. P.R.I.D.E. Theme

May’s T.A.K.E.S. P.R.I.D.E. theme is dependability.

Dependability is the quality of demonstrating reliability. A person who is dependable is one others can count on for their truthfulness and integrity. Individuals who demonstrate dependability have a reputation of doing what they say they are going to do. They persist in projects and responsibilities until the task or job is complete.

This month, make a special effort to practice dependability. Some ways you can practice dependability this month include:
  • meeting your curfew;
  • turning in school projects by the due date;
  • arriving to school each day on time; and
  • completing your chores at home before having to be reminded.
When you gain a reputation as someone others can rely upon, you earn their respect and confidence.
