I just wanted to thank all of the students in my class for a terrific start to the year. Your enthusiasm has made 2015 great. We look forward to the holidays, but more so, we look forward to seeing each other again in the new year. Thank you for all of the wonderful gifts and sentiments. Thanks to Tai for making the special WRE cookie. Enjoy your days off!!
From our music class, the students liked this song. So... we thought we would post the words.
Congratulations to my class, the school champions in First in Math! Your hard work made West Rockhill come in second place in the district. Way to go!!
We are trying to track CARES Cash using an online program called "Class Dojo" that enables us to record positive and negative behaviors at school. Whenever CARES Cash is earned or lost, it will be recorded. Periodically, reports will be sent out to the parents from the website so you can look at the behaviors and discuss them with your child.
To access your child's reports, you will need to create an account to login to this site. (www.classdojo.com) It's a simple process. Once you have the account, you should be able to click on the link sent in e-mail to see your child's report.
I hope this information is helpful.
The new point of sale system has been put into use in the Bistro. This enables you to place money into an account at school and students will debit this account. This will also help you as parents to understand what your student is purchasing.
Students will need to know their Student ID's to purchase items in Bistro using their account. There are reminder cards for students during checkout. There is more details for setting up your account and adding funds on the district's Nutritional Services website.
Hello Parents and Students,
I have been adding overdue assignments to the list of make-up work on the website. Please check here to see if you have work that is still due. Let me know when they are completed so I can update the list.
If you are struggling when helping your child with the math homework, please keep in mind that every child has a Student Reference Book (SRB) that they can bring home. It has all of the information on the mathematical techniques used in the program. It also has the games used to help your student develop more proficiency in math skills. It is a very handy parent reference book, so ask your child to bring it home.
Please note that this reference is also available on the www.everydaymathonline.com website. Students can login using their account.
There will be times when I forget to copy the Friday Updates until it is too late. This made me think, "Why not just post the latest information online?" This will help if the paper version is lost, or if Mr. James did not get it copied on time. So I have made a location under the Parent links for the Friday Update. That way you can see what is happening if your paper gets lost.
E-mail me if you think this is useful for you.
Students have a new place to save the great sentences that they find when they are reading. These sentences will be examples of the various patterns we have discussed in class. For example, a student may see a great example of an AAAWWUBBIS (Confused? Ask them...) and want to share it with the class. They can simply go to the Great Sentences page on the sidebar and type the sentence into the web page, listing where they found it. Mr. James will get a copy and find a good time for them to share it with the class
Encourage your readers to notice how other authors write, so they can imitate it in their own writing. Keep them motivated to read a varitey of genres and authors. Great writers are great readers.
