Message from the Principal

Greetings Patriots!

Welcome back to the 2018-2019 school year at Pender High School! We are thrilled to have you and your student(s) as part of our school family. We welcome the opportunity to partner with you to ensure academic success for all students. I am both honored and humbled to serve as the instructional leader of such an amazing school with such strong community ties and look forward to working with our students, staff, families, and community members.

Pender High School serves students in Grades 9-12 and focuses on aligning our pathways to ensure college and career readiness. Our staff is committed to ensuring every student achieves academic success. Our goal is to provide an environment conducive to learning which challenges students to reach their highest potential.

Our top priority is the safety of your child which leads to overall academic achievement. We endeavor to make it a place where student learning is our # 1 focus. We conquer this high expectation by teaching and reinforcing expectations, routines, and our school rules. We value our home-school-community partnerships and strive to support these through positive, timely communication with all stakeholders. We will send weekly alert phone messages with our upcoming schedules, maintain our school and teacher webpages, and provide you with accurate data of your child’s progress via progress reports and report cards. We encourage parents to maintain contact with their teachers; and please do not hesitate to make contact if questions and/or concerns arise regarding your child and their academics.

We do believe in focusing on the whole child. At Pender High School, we encourage participation in extra-curricular activities and athletic programs. Students have the opportunity to participate in numerous sports and club activities which will enhance their educational experience. Our arts programs at Pender High School also participate in many community events and put on a performances you don’t want to miss!

We appreciate your involvement and support for our students at Pender High School and encourage you to remain involved. Join the booster club, become involved in our PTA, and allow your input and suggestions to help us continue to grow. Without your support and interest our students would not feel the success necessary to ensure they are ready for the world that awaits. We welcome your comments, suggestions, and concerns. Please do not hesitate to contact us if we may ever help you in any way.
