Pender County High Schools - $1,000
The Aramark Scholarship Program awards eight $1,000 scholarships to graduating seniors who plan to attend an accredited university, college, community college or two-year vocational/technical school. Students from Heide Trask High, Pender High, Pender Early College and Topsail High are eligible to apply. 
The deadline to apply is May 1, 2017.

Disabled American Veterans of Chapter 11 Scholarship
$500 Scholarship
The Disabled American Veterans of Chapter 11, Wilmington, North Carolina announces its annual Americanism Essay Scholarship Program. Two scholarships in the amount of $500.00 each will be awarded to the two best entries as determined by a panel of judges from the Americanism Committee. To download the application, click here.

Pender Education Partnership Scholarship
Pender County High Schools - $500

One of the Pender Education Partnership’s goals is to provide financial support for Pender County Schools’ graduates to further their education, whether that is through a certificate program, a community college or four-year institution of higher education.

One $500 scholarship will be awarded to a student at each of the district’s high schools – Heide Trask High School, Pender Early College High School, Pender High School, and Topsail High School.

The deadline to apply is Friday, April 13,2018.

Pender Youth Basketball Scholarship
Pender and Heide Trask Students - $250

The goal of the Pender Youth Basketball Association is to promote recreational basketball and encourage involvement in all areas of the program. Pender Youth Basketball awards two $250 scholarships to a male and female student at both Pender High and Heide Trask High schools.

The deadline to apply is April 8, 2017.

Kitty E. Croom Memorial Scholarship
Pender High School Students - $2500 per year 

For over ten years Kitty E. Croom was employed at Pender High School. She was a strong advocate of education with a desire for children with financial need to be able to attend college. She also felt it important that after college students return the southeastern North Carolina to enrich the area with what they had learned. The Kitty E. Croom Memorial Scholarship was established in the 2004-2005 school year to support the beliefs of Mrs. Croom.

The $2500 per year scholarship award is renewable contingent upon the student remaining in good standing with the institution of higher learning and maintaining a 2.5 grade point average. 

Only Pender High School students may apply for this scholarship. The application is available in the school guidance office and on line by January 15.

Deadline for applications is April 15

Edna R. Kellett Memorial Scholarship
Topsail High School Students - $1500 per year

The Edna R. Kellett Memorial Scholarship was established in 2005 according to the Mrs. Kellett’s beneficiary directions. While little is known about Mrs. Kellett, her generosity is deeply appreciated.  The scholarship is renewable contingent upon the student remaining in good standing with the institution of higher learning and maintaining a 2.5 grade point average. 

Only Topsail High School students may apply for this award.  Applications are available in the school guidance office and on-line each year by January 15.

Deadline for applications is April 15.  


Burgaw Area Chamber of Commerce Scholarship

The Burgaw Area Chamber of Commerce Scholarship Program, established in 1984, supports students residing in Pender County in their pursuit of a higher education.

Samuel Henry Bell Scholarship

Students who attended Malpass Corner Elementary School are eligible to apply for this scholarship. The value of the scholarship is approximately $750 per year and is applied for on an annual basis. Applicants must have attended Malpass Corner Elementary School. Consideration will be given to students who demonstrate financial need, scholastic attainment, qualities of leadership and exemplary conduct.

David W. and Anne B. Pearsall Merit Award
University of North Carolina Wilmington

David W. Pearsall was a native of Rocky Point in Pender County and a graduate of North Carolina State University College of Engineering. The purpose of this scholarship is to recognize academic excellence and to open opportunities to Pender County young people who aspire to a college degree.This Scholarship is made possible through an endowment established by the late Mr. Pearsall. It is presented to outstanding students in Pender County Schools who pursue higher education at the University of North Carolina Wilmington. 

The amount of the award varies each year but is renewable contingent upon the student remaining in good standing with the university.

David W. and Anne B. Pearsall Merit Award
North Carolina State University

This scholarship award, made possible through an endowment by the late Mr. Pearsall, is presented to outstanding students in Pender County Schools who will pursue higher education in the area of Engineering or Computer Science at North Carolina State University.

The amount of the award varies each year but is renewable contingent upon the student remaining in good standing with the university.

The application is available in school guidance offices and online by January 15 each year.

Deadline for applications is April 15.   

Lower Cape Fear Stewardship Development Coalition
High School students or graduates of Brunswick, New Hanover, and Pender counties - $1,000 

A competitive scholarship to current graduating senior or high school graduate entering into a program at an accredited institution of higher learning, whose career path will include focusing on environmental stewardship through protection, conservation, improvement, and awareness of natural resources, etc.

North Carolina A&T State University Wilmington Alumni Chapter Scholarship Program
Pender, New Hanover, Brunswick County Students - $1000

The North Carolina A&T State University Wilmington Alumni Chapter offers a $1000 scholarship program. Eligible students must reside in Pender, New Hanover, or Brunswick counties and pursue a full-time college education at North Carolina A&T State University.
