1. Show the video below, called "Technology Presentation for Students." (for best results, use full screen)
2. As the video is playing, pause for any questions students may have. Teachers who work with younger students may need to pause throughout the video to explain portions of the video.
3. Upon completion of the video answer any remaining questions students may have and pass around the student signature sheet. The Student Signature Sheet is here.
The student signature sheet has 10 spaces for signatures, so print enough for the entire class.
Teachers in grades K-2 or those of special needs students may simply print a class roster, and initial by each student's name indicating they have viewed the presentation. Include the date and time of the presentation on this sheet as well.
4. On the 15th day of school, report any students on your roll who HAVE NOT SIGNED or have signed NO for Internet access, via email, to your school's media coordinator.
5. On the 16th day of school, school media coordinators will email a list of these names (have not signed or have signed for NO access) reported by teachers to the Technology Services Department. Internet services will be turned off for these students.
6. Signature sheets MUST be stored in the school's media center, in a secure location and be accessible at a moment's notice.
7. (Optional) For those who wish to opt out of Internet Access: Internet Opt Out Form (English and Spanish)
