PENDER COUNTY — The Pender County Board of Education has appointed Cassundra Morrison Principal of West Pender Middle School.

Ms. Morrison has served as a teacher, assistant principal, central office director, and principal. She brings more than 20 years of experience, including administrative roles spanning all grade levels. She said middle school is her favorite, and she is excited to become a Warrior.

“I’m most looking forward to meeting the students and getting to know the staff,” Morrison said. “I’m so excited to get to know the community and experience the eastern part of the state.”

Morrison has spent most of her career in Surry County, located in Western North Carolina. She holds a bachelor’s degree from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University and a master’s degree in school administration from Appalachian State University.

Morrison has a son, Jeremiah Morrison, and two beautiful grandchildren.

“Ms. Morrison will be a great fit at West Pender Middle School,” said Dr. Terri Cobb, Superintendent of Pender County Schools. “She has a heart for children and a desire to provide educational opportunities that will ensure the success of all students.”

A meet-and-greet will be held for students, staff, parents and community members to get to know Ms. Morrison at a later date.
