Positive Behavior Intervention System (PBIS)

Every morning students say this pledge. Each letter in our mascot name, Eagle, reminds students of a behavior that will help them get the most out of their education.

The pledge:

I am an Eagle. I...
Exercise responsibility
Act safely
Get along
Expect excellence
Show respect

The Positive Behavior Intervention System (PBIS)
is a system designed to teach proper school behavior. Rather than depending only on punishments of inappropriate behavior, PBIS emphasizes teaching proper behavior so expectations are clear. Under PBIS, we do not assume that all children know what proper school behavior is. Proper behavior must be taught like other subjects in school.Once taught, proper behavior is expected and incentives and rewards are the preferred ways to assure that the good behavior becomes a habit.
