Master's Degree Reimbursement


Pender County Employee Tuition Assistance Programs

 

Pender County Commissioners' Fund

Each year, The Pender County Board of Commissioners provides $10,000 to 
be used towards tuition costs for teachers teaching in the classroom pursuing a 
Masters Degree in Education. 

In order to be eligible, all of the following criteria must be met:

  • The teacher must be pursuing a Masters degree program to be utilized in the classroom setting;
  • The degree must be in the field of education;
  •  The teacher must successfully complete  the class;
  • The teacher needs to have passed the Praxis.

To apply, submit a letter of request to Pender County Schools, Human Resources, including the following:

• Amount requested for cost of class only (no books 
or fees), along with a statement of any other
financial assistance that you have received from
other funding sources for the semester requested*
• Course description
• Degree sought
• Teacher contact information 
• Plan of study from an Accredited Institution

* Official transcript indicating the course was passed for credit
* Itemized tuition statement.
• Paid receipt

Requests for summer session I, II or fall semester are due December 31. Requests for spring semester are due June .

All services are contingent upon the availability of funding
