After School Programs

Meeting the needs of children, families, schools, and the communities we serve.

The Pender County School District offers after school programs for students in grades K-5.  
PACES, a fee for service after school care program, serves students in grades K-5.  21st Century Community Learning Centers, a federally funded program,  provides after school tutoring and academic enrichment
services for 
eligible students in grades 2-5 at Title I elementary schools.

    • Operates from the end of the school day until 6:00 pm

    • Homework/Quiet Hour

    • Recreational Activities

    • Academic Enrichment

    • Nutritious Snacks

    • Arts and Crafts

    • Character Education

    • Activities based on student interest

                            North Topsail Elementary                 Surf City Elementary

21st Century
Community Learning Centers
    • Provides academic instruction/tutoring for at-risk students in grades 2-5

    • Homework Assistance

    • STEM Enrichment Activities

    • Recreational Activities

    • Nutritious Snacks

    • Field Trips

    • Service Learning

    • Transportation 

              The 21st Century Program is funded through a federal grant and provides services 
              to eligible students at the following locations:

                                 Burgaw Elementary                      Cape Fear Elementary

                                 Malpass Corner Elementary         Rocky Point Elementary
