  • Safe & Caring Promise Recently I spoke with the second and third grade classes about promises.  Then we all signed the Safe & Caring Promise: "We promise to ourselves and everyone here to do our best to follow the rules, be respectful, and make Russell Elementary School a Safe & Caring School".  Next we read a story about quilt blocks sometimes serve as reminders of things people want to remember.  Finally, we each made a quilt block to illustrate something that we can do to contribute to a safe and caring school.  We put our blocks together with our signed promise to form a quilt.2nd grade quilt3rd grade quilt

What's new with Mr. & Mrs. Potato Head?

  • Feelings
Several grades have been learning about feelings in Guidance class.  Recently Mrs.
    Potato
    Head visited
Kindergarten with me to help teach about feelings.  The Kindergarteners had pictures o
f Mr. Potato Head with no features on his face.  They used play-do to create faces that expressed different emotions, such as happy, sad, angry, and surprised.
