23322 Pre-Calculus

Grades: 10, 11, 12 | Score: Weighted | Credit: 1 | Spring Semester | Elective

College Credit: 5 DMACC Credits - MAT 129

Prerequisite: Introduction to Pre-Calculus / Trigonometry; entrance exam called the ALEKS test


This course is the conclusion to Introduction to Pre-Calculus / Trigonometry. Topics include Logarithmic and Exponential Functions, Systems of Equations, Conic Sections, Vectors, and Polar-Coordinates. If there is time, the study of Limits will begin which is a foundational topic for Calculus. At the conclusion of Pre-Calculus, a passing grade of C or better should indicate that a student is prepared to take any college level Calculus course. A student must be willing to devote 30-60 minutes per day outside of class in order to practice problems to be successful on tests in this class.

The high school offers college credit courses for students but remember, it is the students’ responsibility to request transcripts to be sent to their college of choice for transfer of credits. There is a form in the guidance office to assist you with this process.
