Beta Sigma Psi Lutheran Fraternity at Iowa State offers three $1500 scholarships to incoming Christian men for their education at Iowa State. See Mrs. Manning for an application. They have three rounds of applications; round one is due February 21, round two April 25, round three July 1.
Bright Scholars of Iowa will award 21 high school seniors lacking financial resources with a full-ride, four-year scholarship to any of Iowa’s three Regent universities. Sixteen students will be awarded tuition and cost of books at DMACC or Indian Hills (which is then transferrable to one of the Regent universities if students choose to transition on.) Iowa State University offers the ACACIA Leadership Scholarship for students who have exhibited exceptional ability in the fields of academics, extra-curricular activities, and community involvement. See Mrs. Manning for an application.
DMACC offers a scholarships to students attending DMACC next Fall. For application details, visit http://go.dmacc.edu/foundation/Pages/district-wide-scholarship.aspx. Deadline is March 7.
Missouri River Energy Services Scholarship Program awards ten $1,000 scholarships each year to students who reside in one of Missouri River Energy Services’ municipal utilities service areas. Visit http:\www.mrenergy.com; deadline is March 15.
Mary Evers Scholarship is an award sponsored by the Pella Community Hospital Auxiliary given to students pursuing a nursing degree. See Mrs. Manning for an application; deadline is March 25.
The Iowa Hospital Association offers scholarships of $3000 per year for a maximum of two years to students enrolled in an accredited program leading to registration, licensure or a clinical laboratory science graduate or undergraduate degree. In exchange for that financial support, students who accept the funds agree to work one year in an Iowa Hospital for each year that they receive a scholarship. Dale Schroeder Charitable Trust is a scholarship program that offers awards to students with a 2.8 or above who plan to attend The University of Iowa, Iowa State University, or University of Northern Iowa. Visit http://DaleSchroeder.scholarsapply.org. Deadline is March 26th.
The Learning Disabilities Association of Iowa offers a $1000 scholarship to a student with a diagnosed learning disability. For an application, see Mrs. Manning. Deadline is March 31st.
The Des Moines Officials Association Scholarship offers two $500 scholarships to students who exhibit leadership and sportsmanship characteristics. The application includes two reference letters, a 150-300 word essay, and an application. For a copy of the application, see Mrs. Manning. Application is due March 31st.
Marion County Cattlemen and The Bob Nichols Memorial Scholarship will be awarded to students who plan to attend college and major in something related to agriculture. For more information, please see Mrs. Manning. Applications are due April 1.
The Peter Pasula Study Habits Scholarship is a $500 award for students attending a two-year or four-year college. Students must complete an online essay to be considered. Visit http://www.mortgagebrokersburnaby.com for more information; deadline is April 1st.
The H.S. Ostlin Memorial Scholarship will be awarded to an entering freshman at Iowa State University. Applicants must complete the FAFSA by March 1st and submit an essay highlighting high school activities, academic achievements, and involvement in the community. This award is most likely given to a student who demonstrates high academic standards and a financial need. If interested in applying, see Mrs. Manning in the guidance office.
Great Clips gives three $300 scholarships to students interested in a career in cosmetology or barbering. The money can be used at any Des Moines area accredited cosmetology or barbering school. See Mrs. Manning for details.
Key Cooperative is offering up to 12 non-renewable $1,000 scholarships to seniors whose parents or guardians are Class A or Class B members of Key Cooperative. Recipients should be planning to choose a major course of study in an agricultural or ag-business field, animal science, communications, informations systems, accounting, auto/truck repair, carpentry or masonry construction. Leo H. Grether Memorial Scholarship in Choral Education will be giving a $2500 scholarship to a graduating senior pursuing a career in choral music education. For more information, see Mrs. Manning; deadline is April 15.
KNIA KRLS is giving two $250 scholarships to graduating seniors who will be pursuing a business or communications degree at a two or four year college. See Mrs. Manning for an application; deadline is May 2.

Business Horizons 2014 will be held at Central College this year. Central College has announced that students who attend Business Horizons who are admitted to Central College (and choose to attend Central College) are guaranteed a minimum of $12,000 in Central College scholarship assistance, renewable for four years. Moody’s Mega Math Challenge is an Internet-based applied math competition that awards $125,000 in scholarship prizes ranging from $1,000 to $20,000 to teams of high school seniors and juniors. Iowa State University offers The Hixson Award, which is a half-tuition scholarship, to 100 Iowa students each year. Financial need is a primary consideration of the award; financial need must be determined by filing the FAFSA. In order to be considered for the award, the FAFSA must be verified as complete by March. The full eligibility requirements are detailed at www.dso.iastate.edu/hixson/application/.
