About Ms. Newell

Hello! I am Jaime Newell, the Tech Art teacher at Pelham High School. This means that I teach the arts that are more on the technological side, such as Digital Photography, Graphic Design, and also STEAM, which stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math. I have been interested in Science for as long as I can remember--going back to experimenting with magnets in first grade and the wonder of figuring out how they worked! During my graduate degree program, I wrote a paper titled "STEAM, not STEM: How Art Enhances Public School Curriculums and Increases Standardized Test Scores." I am very passionate about the possibilities of art enhancing science and engineering, and science and engineering enhancing art.
