Dear Students and Parents,

As the school year is winding down, I hope you all enjoy your summer and time off from school! I am super excited for our school year next year in Room 210! We have a busy and exciting year in 3rd grade, but I have no doubt that if you come to school every day with a positive attitude, are ready to learn, ready to challenge yourself, and want to have fun together, we will have a great year!

Before the first day of school on Tuesday August 27th there will be a meet and greet on Monday August 26th from 9:00 am to 10:00 am. During this time feel free to come by our room (Room 210, upstairs in the West Wing) to meet me and drop off any of your supplies. On the attached sheet you will find a list of recommended supplies that will be helpful to have for the school year. An assignment notebook and homework folder will be provided for each student. Please let me know if you are having any trouble finding any of the supplies listed. We will have plenty of extra supplies in the room for students to use.

In addition to bringing in those supplies, you have two pieces of homework for the first week of school (I promise it’s fun)! I ask that each student cut out pictures from magazines, books, newspapers, or photographs of things that describe you and what you like. You will need enough pictures to fill an 8.5 x 11 piece of paper (smaller pictures will work best for the project). DO NOT glue the pictures onto paper! Place the pictures in a Zip-Lock bag with your name on it. These items will be used for a project, will be laminated, and will be returned at the end of the year.

Next I would like you to fill out the attached Beginning of the Year Questionnaire, so that I can get to know you a little better. Parents, feel free to help your child complete this and add any additional information you think I should know. Bring your pictures and questionnaire into school by the end of our first week.

If you have any questions feel free to email me at I am excited for a fun year ahead! Have a fun, safe, and relaxing summer!!

Your teacher,

Miss Hebert
