About the Teacher

Elaine French has been part of the Pelham High School Community since the fall of 2001. She works primarily as a Special Education Case Manager, Reading teacher, and Academic Skills teacher. She has also served as class advisor to the Pelham High School Classes of 2009, 2012, and 2016.

Elaine received her degree at Lesley University and is certified as a General Special Education Teacher and Elementary Education Teacher. She is trained and certified in the Wilson Reading System and Language ! Series; has been trained in the use of Corrective Reading Decoding and Comprehension Series; and portions of S.P.I.R.E. Additionally, Elaine holds a Coaching Children & Teens certificate and a Coaching Children & Teens with ADHD certificate from the University of New Hampshire.

Before coming to the high school, she worked as a Title 1 Math & Reading teacher at a local middle school; as a curriculum enrichment teacher, providing math enrichment to elementary school students; and as a teacher of gifted & talented, with students in the fifth and sixth grade.

Elaine enjoys gardening, traveling, and cooking for her family and friends.
