Welcome to Mrs. Haima's Website!
Hello! I am the reading intervention teacher at Eagle Elementary School, supporting students K5-6th grade. This is my fifth year in the district and in this position. Previously, I've taught K4, K5, and 1st grade in other urban, suburban, and rural districts in the southeast Wisconsin area. I graduated from UW-Platteville in 2007 with a bachelor's in Elementary Education and minors in Adaptive Education, Early Childhood, and Teaching English as a Second/Other Language. I studied a semester in Stavanger, Norway and loved the chance to expand my cultural experiences. My reading teacher certification was gained at Concordia University Wisconsin in 2010. I'm currently going back for my reading specialist certification.

This is also my fifth year co-coordinating the Spelling Bee Club with Mr. Deets and the first year co-coordinating the Junior Spelling Bee Club with Ms. Clark. EES participates in the Scripps National Spelling Bee program, which offers 3rd-6th grade students the chance to move on to additional levels of competition after winning our school's spelling bee. We are using the Scripps National Spelling Bee materials to help prepare our 1st and 2nd graders for the competitive club by giving them public speaking experience and building a love for spelling! If you'd like to know more about this club, just ask!

A little more about myself:
I'm a busy mother of three - ages 5 1/2, 3, and 8 months! We love trips to the zoo, parks, bike rides, tennis, Little People, trains, Duplos, reading stories, and My Little Ponies. :) When I'm not busy with my family, I enjoy baking, traveling, and of course reading!
