Mrs. Bartkiewicz
My name is Mrs. Susan Bartkiewicz.  I am a third grade teacher here at Palmyra Elementary School.  I have been teaching in the Palmyra-Eagle District for 27 years now.  I began my teaching career here back in 1991.  I taught first grade from 1991-2001.  I taught fourth grade from 2001-2017.  This is my first year teaching third grade!  So far, I'm really enjoying it!
I love being a part of the PES community.  We are like a close knit family.  I have previous students that now have children of their own in my class.  It's an amazing feeling to hear that you have inspired hundreds of children over the years.  In 2008, I was nominated by teachers, parents, and students, both past and present, for the TOP TEACHER AWARD from WEAC and Today's TMJ4.  It was one of my most memorable experiences as a teacher!  In May of 2017, I was nominated by a family as being an inspirational educator.  I have my name engraved on a plaque at the MS/HS, as part of the Honor an Educator Wall.  Again, I feel privileged to teach in such a wonderful district!
I graduated from UW-Whitewater as an undergrad in 1991, and received my Master's Degree as a Reading Specialist from UW-Whitewater in 1995.  I enjoy going to conferences and doing anything to further my learning as a professional.  You can never know enough.  That's what I love most about my job...there is always something exciting, and everyday is a new day to learn!
I enjoy Zumba, making crafts, shopping, and I'm a WISCONSIN sports fanatic!  If the Packers, Brewers, Marquette, Bucks or Badgers are on TV, leave me alone!
I have been married to my husband, Lonny for 18 years now.  Our anniversary is 9/11/99.   Lonny is a former student of the Palmyra-Eagle School District himself.  I taught 4th grade in the same room he had fourth grade in years ago.  He loved being in a small town growing up and graduated with only 95 students in his class.  We rescued a dog named, Frank James, from Chicago in 2015.  He's our buddy and we love him like a child.
