To enrich each student's lives with the power and beauty of music.
To develop an appreciation for the music around us.
To learn how to play a multitude of instruments and in that, discover our passion.
To explore and experiment in a safe place and find out what we can do.
I am originally from Cambridge, WI and did all of my primary education there. In middle and high school, I was in band, choir, show choir and musicals as well as volleyball, basketball and softball. After I graduated, I attended the University of Wisconsin La Crosse where I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in music education.
I am certified K-12 in both choral and general music. My primary instrument in college was voice and I developed my voice through vocal lessons as well as being a part of the Choral Union, Vocal Jazz, Women's Choir and Concert Choir. I was also a member of the Korean Percussion Ensemble for four of the years while I was at college.
I grew up hearing music from my mom and dad and developed a genuine love for it very early on. I began playing piano, trumpet, guitar, recorder and really anything else I could get my hands on as soon as I could.
I began my teaching career here at PEASD in the fall of 2015 and could not be happier with where I am.
My goal for the music classroom is that the students leave with an appreciation for what music is as well as how it effects our daily lives. I want the students to leave wanting more in hopes that they will join the amazing music programs that we offer at the high school and middle school.
If you ever have any questions for me, please do not hesitate to contact me, I would love to hear from you!
