Who we are‎ > ‎

Our family has been a part of Peace church since we moved to Minnesota in 2004. We have found the Peace to be a community we appreciate on many levels. Although small in number, the commitment to service, social justice and outreach missions is large and inspiring. The church is truly open-hearted and open-minded, and our kids get to see what unconditional love and acceptance really looks like in the real world. Pastor Gary creates a comfortable, welcoming environment, while challenging us to dig deeper into our faith lives. The music is full of variety, spirituality, and is a joy to hear every week. Finally, the support of the youth is tremendous, which is creating a new generation that will seek social justice and tolerance. We have enjoyed being a part of the church family and look forward to many more years at Peace.

P - powerful music. . Been involved with all areas of peace music over the years except bells!
E - eagerness...to be apart of your life. . To Be family. .. to be supportive...to help where needed.
A - accepting of everyone.  Living daily the belief that everyone has gifts to share AND everyone has areas where they need to ask for grace.
C - compassion for mankind. .. so much mission or outreach is done by the members of this small, financially struggling church.
E - example.   The people of Peace church,  the mission of Peace church,  the love of Peace church.  This is the example I want my girls to see of how to live with Christ within you.

I like Peace because parents are welcomed and encouraged to get involved in their children's lives by helping with Sunday school, group activities, vacation bible school....I have found it's the best way to get to know not only the other kids at church, but their families, too.  The friendships that come from this level of involvement are incredible!

I enjoy Peace because of the small community feel.  People at Peace are welcoming and fun to be around.  I enjoy the outreach programs and have participated with other men from Peace in remodeling rooms at a retreat center in Onamia, MN.  I have friends I know I can count on as a result.

This is a great church because our kids are consistently encouraged to contribute.  Whether it be on the sound board, ushering, teaching or playing in our youth band, there are many ways they are included and feel a part of something bigger.

The music program is what drew me to Peace.  The programs are very diverse - there is something for everyone, and the Music Director is always willing to add more if there is an interest.

I first came to Peace in 1968 when our former church closed.  We were immediately greeted and welcomed into the Peace family.  As a member I have enjoyed the journey and have made life long friends that I will cherish always.

What I love about Peace UMC are the the people. They are warm and friendly, and generous with their time and talents. Over the past 15 years, my kids have benefited enormously from the opportunities to be involved and to serve, both within the church and on mission trips, etc.
