Melissa Lucash

Dr. Lucash grew up in eastern PA, receiving her B.S. and Ph.D. at SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry (Syracuse, NY) and her M.S. at Oregon State University (Corvallis, OR). Throughout much of her career, she conducted fieldwork in plant physiology, biogeochemistry and soils, but now she focuses on studying climate change impacts on forest ecosystems. 
She is a model developer of the NECN (Net Ecosystem Carbon and Nitrogen) succession extension of LANDIS-II, charged with improving the successional, carbon and nitrogen dynamics of vegetation and soils in the model.

On our project, Dr. Lucash co-leads the landscape simulation work with Drs. Smithwick and Scheller.
