This fall, our
lab is happy to welcome Kristen Purdy as an intern working with Brooke Cassell on a Public Participation GIS project in the Southern Blue Mountains of Oregon. Kristen is a 5th-year Senior at PSU in the Environmental Science and Management Department. She also works as an EcoRep Coordinator with the Student Sustainability Center, is a member of the student-run Waste Reduction Task Force, and has held myriad other volunteer roles, and was recently recognized for her countless contributions to the planet and our university with the Portland State University Excellence in Sustainability 2016 - Outstanding Student Volunteer Award. We congratulate Kristen on this achievement, and we're very happy she's decided to join our lab!
Kristen (on the R) accompanied Brooke Cassell (L) on a trip to John Day, OR to meet the Blue Mountain Forest Partners and visit forest restoration sites, including this experimental salvage logging plot in the footprint of the 2015 Canyon Creek Fire.
