We congratulate Charles Maxwell, a member of the Dynamic Ecosystems and Landscapes Lab, for receiving a research sponsorship from Microsoft Azure Research.   Charles' research involves forest management scenario modeling to aid long term forest planning for the Klamath-Siskiyou Mountains of SW Oregon and NW California.  Different management strategies will be modeled out using LANDIS-II under different climate change projections and assessed by various metrics including changes in vegetation cover, fire rotation intervals, and ecosystem services produced by the landscape.

The Microsoft Azure sponsorship is for $20,000 of cloud computing on Microsoft's dedicated cloud platform.
