Welcome from the members of the Information, Hospitality, and Special Events Subcommittee of the 2017 Conference on College Composition and Communication!
On this site we provide information about many aspects of Portland–transportation, events, attractions, restaurants, shopping, accessibility, and more–for prospective attendees of the 2017 4Cs. We will continue to update this website, so keep us on your radar!
Click here to access the main website of the 4Cs, which contains information about the 2017 conference theme and submissions. We think you’ll find Portland a scenic and dynamic city with much to see and do. Portland is the largest city in the state and second largest in the Pacific Northwest about 80 miles from the coast. It’s known as the Rose City in honor of the thousands of roses that are grown here every year and as a center for progressive values, environmental awareness, coffee consumption, bike-friendliness, and, increasingly, as a hub for comic studies.
And English/Writing faculty will feel right at home with its many bookstores and cultural venues. In fact, it’s often said, “Every resident of Portland has a book chapter under his or her arm.”
