Family Engagement is the collaboration between families and schools that drives student achievement.

My name is Jackie Reynolds.  I am the Family Engagement Coordinator for Putnam County Schools.  You may reach me by email at jreynolds3@pcsstn.com or by phone at (931) 881-8848.

Welcome to Putnam County Schools!  We value YOU as the parent. whether you are a guardian, grandparent, step-parent, or even great grandparent.  As you know YOU are your child's first teacher.  We want to work with you to help your child be the best they can be.

Putnam County has a district Parent Involvement Plan that you can view in English or in Spanish.  2017-18_F.E. Plan
A hard copy of this plan is available at the Central Office and at every school.

If you would like to make suggestions or comments regarding the District Parent Involvement Plan and/or the District School Improvement Plan, please email me @ jreynolds3@pcsstn.com or by phone at (931) 881-8848.

Every school in Putnam County also has a Parent Involvement Plan that you can view on the school's website or a hard copy is available in each school.
If you would like to make suggestions or comments regarding the Parent Involvement Plan and/or the School Improvement Plan at your child's school, please email the principal or call the school.

If you need transportation or childcare to attend an event at your child's school, please call the school office and they will be able to help you.

“Research has shown that if children do not read on grade level by third grade, they may never catch up with their peers,” Tenn. First Lady Crissy Haslam said. ReadTennessee.org's tool kits offer resources to parents, teachers and community members to help us improve early childhood literacy making our children competitive for college and prepared for a high quality workforce." The Family Toolkit can be accessed at http://www.readtennessee.org/family.aspx.

The National PTA Parents’ Guide to Student Success  was developed in response to the common core standards in English language arts and mathematics that more than 40 states have adopted. The guides are written in English and Spanish for Kindergarten through high school and can be accessed at http://www.pta.org/4446.htm.

The Guide includes:
  • Key items that children should be learning in English language arts and mathematics in each grade, once the standards are fully implemented.
  • Activities that parents can do at home to support their child's learning.
  • Methods for helping parents build stronger relationships with their child's teacher.
  • Tips for planning for college and career for high school only.
