So, where did all the "Programs" go?

The short of it is in relation to the new 2014 Data Standards. In regards to what COMPASS users referred to as Programs, the federal government refers to them as "Projects". To stay compliant with the Data Standards, the system has been modified to reflect the name change. Going forward, the system will reflect "Project" where it was once referenced as "Program".

Why the name change? Simply put; A Program is a funding stream for federal Projects. Think of SSVF, the VA, ESG, HOPWA,... these are federal programs that set aside money to fund an agencies Project. So, being that a client can't be enrolled into a "fund", the terminology has been modified to be able to enroll client's into an agencies Project.

NOTE: As "Program" is used in various places within the application (headings, text, pop-ups), you may see the words "Project" and "Program" interchanging until all of the usage is found and re-coded. Just know, going forward, clients are enrolled into Projects.
