Marketing/Communications Internship Opportunities
Events and Public Relations
This person will work with our Director of Special Events and will assist in the planning and executing of station events that include: education events, fundraising events and community events. Interns will represent PBS SoCaL in the community and interact with the public, employees of the station and board members. Must be highly organized, able to work well in groups, deadline oriented, a problem solver, self guided, and professional, with sharp writing skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Docs. apply
Sponsorship/Sales
This person will work with our VP of Corporate Sponsorship Sales on prospecting future clients, creation of proposals/sales packages, and client database management. They will learn how broadcast media sales work within a Public Television environment, and how the process applies to both the commercial and non-profit worlds. Attention to detail and strong communication skills are a must. apply
Events Marketing/Concerts
Works closely with our Advancement and Membership staff on setting up concert and event information from beginning to end. Duties include setting up ticket offers, including social media promotion, tracking success of events, fulfillment of tickets either through mail or will call at events and day of event set-up. Qualifications include the ability to multitask using the internet, Microsoft Office, Google docs and other tools to successfully complete events. Must be comfortable speaking with event participants from venues to audience members on the phone and in person. apply
Grants/Research/Outreach/Marketing
This person will work with our Senior Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations learning the ins and outs of the grant world from concept to creation through funding. They will also learn how research, outreach, reporting and marketing connect to grants while also learning valuable tools to benefit any position in the non-profit sector. Strong attention to details and good writing skills is a must. Internship will also include attendance of some of our grant funded events. apply
Education/Marketing
This person will work with our Educational Department on our in the home, in the classroom, in the community projects. They will assist with promotions and marketing for PBS SoCaL Education and PBS KIDS as well as plan, implement, and particpate in outreach activities/community engagement. Must be web savvy, social, and professional with sharp writing skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office. apply
Online Community and Social Media Marketing
Assists the Senior Manager of Interactive with the promotional calendar including design and creation of online promotional campaigns; including weekly e-newsletter, blogs, social media, and Google Adwords. Sharp writing and design skills a must. Knowledge of Photoshop, Facebook, Twitter, and Wordpress a plus. apply
