There are several areas of PBS SoCaL that are crucial to the station’s success but are out of the public limelight. PBS SoCaL employs 39 full time staff and 14 part time staff who work alongside dedicated interns and volunteers.
The Executive Office and Administration oversees PBS SoCaL’s facilities and human resources functions, financial resources, including maintaining compliance with grant record keeping and payroll.
Development division combines fundraising, marketing, public relations, interactive web development, social media, underwriting and member interactions to focus on the many different ways that the Southern California community can support PBS SoCaL. More than 80 percent of PBS SoCaL’s funding comes from individual members, foundations and business partners. The Membership department, which is part of the Advancement division, responds to all public inquires and handles all ticketed pledge events. Also, Volunteer Resources oversees the recruitment, orientation and engagement of volunteers to vital areas of support to PBS So CaL including the front desk and in conducting studio tours.
Engineering maintains the transmitters and translators throughout the broadcast area, as well as all of the equipment in the Costa Mesa corporate offices and studio. This group also oversees PBS SoCaL’s information technology functions.
Broadcast/Master Control ensures that your favorite programs are seamlessly provided on air and at the right day and time for your viewing pleasure.
