PBLJH Announcements

Oct 19,  2018

With the start of a new quarter, we want to remind all students about being prompt and on-time for classes and school in the morning.  Being late to school in the morning also counts as a tardy. Tardies reset as of today. It is a fresh, new start. Please review our tardy policy in the handbook and if you have questions see Mrs. Busby or Mrs. Johnson.

Students who were placed on a tech ban for the first quarter due to grades will remain on tech ban until grades are posted on Wednesday.  At that time, the list will be reviewed and students who are no longer failing a class will be removed from the tech ban. Those who have received a failing grade at the end of the first quarter will be placed on a tech ban.  Please see Mrs. Busby or Mrs. Johnson with questions about this.

We wanted to recognize the band and chorus programs for the Fall Concert Performance last night in our junior high gym.  Mrs. Mauck and Mr. Loui are extremely proud of all
their students in band and chorus.  All the practice our band and chorus students do for that one performance takes a lot of hard work and dedication.  And for that your teachers
thank you and recognize your hard work.  Great Job-

Red Ribbon Week is Oct 22-25 and to jump start the week we are having a poster contest. If you have a poster to enter into the contest please get that to Mrs. Harrison or Mrs. Johnson before the end of the day today.

Today is the end of the 1st Qt.  Grades will be posted on next Wednesday, October 24th.  Teachers you will have to make sure all 1st Qt. grades are entered on Tuesday next week.

Tonight we have our first Student Council Dance to end the 1st Qt. from 6:00-7:30 in the JH Commons.  Tickets can be bought at the door for $2 if you missed buying a fast pass
ticket.  Doors will not open that evening until 5:55 and concessions will be available for pizza, candy, and pop.  Students three specific items for today leading up
to the dance.  Remember this dance is for our students only, you can't bring a guest.  To attend the dance on Friday you have to be at school for half of the day or more.
The last and most important part is behavior with today - if there are concerns you could be prohibited from attending the dance.

Cross country team awards will be next Tuesday after early dismissal in Lab 121. ALL team members should plan on attending.
Please make sure you have your uniform turned in to Coach Pacey as soon as possible.

It is time for trivia again!  On Tuesday, October 23rd there will be halloween trivia in the library at lunch time. See Ms. Bird to sign your team up ahead of time.

Good luck to our 7/8th grade girls basketball teams tomorrow as they start their TCC Tournament play in GCMS.  Bus tomorrow leaves at 10:30

Don't forget that today is trivia day in the library.  If you signed up to play trivia get your pass from Ms, Bird and then bring your lunch to the library.

At this time please stand for the Pledge of Allegiance:
I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America,
and to the republic for which it stands,
    one nation under God, Indivisible,
with liberty and justice for all.

We will now pause for a moment of Silent Reflection!

Thought of the Day

Our primary purpose in life is to help others.  And if you can't help them at least don't hurt them.
