PBLJH Announcements

Oct 18,  2018
Students remember when it is time for lunch and lunch recess make sure you bring your coat with you.  Our normal process is to announce inside recess only - not both.  So if you
don't hear an announcement make sure you are bringing items with you so you don't have to go to your locker.

Red Ribbon Week is Oct 22-25 and to jump start the week we are having a poster contest. If you are interested in participating in the poster contest a flyer has been sent
to your school email and posted on the Student Council bulletin boards in each wing.  You may pick up the poster board from Mrs. Harrison or Mrs. Johnson.  Posters
are due to Mrs. Johnson by Friday, Oct 19. There will be one winner in each grade level who will have Monicals pizza for lunch!  The theme for Red Ribbon week is LIfe
is a Journey so be Drug Free!

The end of the quarter dance will be this Friday from 6:00-7:30 in the JH Commons.  The cost to enter the dance will be $2. Fast passes will be sold Wednesday
Thursday, and Friday morning in the commons and at lunch.  Doors will not open that evening until 5:55 and concessions will be available for pizza, candy, and
pop.  Students three specific items for today and tomorrow leading up to the dance.  Remember this dance is for our students only, you can't bring a guest.  To attend the dance
on Friday you have to be at school for half of the day or more.  The last and most important part is behavior with today and tomorrow - if there are concerns you could be
prohibited from attending the dance.

We want to wish our band and chorus program good luck tonight as they host their first concert of the year here at PBL JH starting at 6pm in the JH Gym.  Students in band
and chorus should arrive by 5:30pm and report to their areas in the band room or chorus room.  Today our custodians will begin preparing the gym during 8th hour.

For today we wanted to let everyone know we will be conducting two different drills.  During 4th hour today we will be doing a a quick discussion and drill for earthquake
preparedness - this is actually a national drill called the Great US Shakeout Drill and it is conducted across the nation at 10:18am.  Teachers we have e-mailed you the Cool Tool
lesson plan for the drill and also placed a paper copy in your mailbox.  When students arrive to 4th hour we will make an announcement to share and discuss the information with
your students.  Our second drill today will be a fire drill at 1pm during 6th hour.  When students arrive tomorrow to 6th hour we will make an announcement prior
to the fire alarm going off.

Cross country team awards will be next Tuesday after early dismissal in Lab 121. ALL team members should plan on attending. Please make sure you have your uniform turned in to Coach Pacey as soon as possible.

It is time for trivia again!  On Tuesday, October 23rd there will be halloween trivia in the library at lunch time. See Ms. Bird to sign your team up ahead of time.

Don't forget that today is trivia day in the library.  If you signed up to play trivia get your pass from Ms, Bird and then bring your lunch to the library.
At this time please stand for the Pledge of Allegiance:
I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America,
and to the republic for which it stands,
    one nation under God, Indivisible,
with liberty and justice for all.

We will now pause for a moment of Silent Reflection!
