The mission of the library is to form world citizens who effectively use information, think critically, and have a passion for literature. Supporting the school mission of creating life-long learners and effective communicators who reason critically and think creatively, the library media center enables students to inquire, draw conclusions, and create new knowledge.
Community members will also learn how to actively and ethically use and disseminate information and ideas. A love of learning for personal, academic, and professional development is also fomented.
To achieve this mission, the library will use the following standards for the 21st Century Learner: Inquire, think critically, and gain knowledge.
Draw conclusions, make informed decisions, apply knowledge to new situations, and create new knowledge.
Share knowledge and participate ethically and productively as members of our democratic society.
Pursue personal and aesthetic growth. (as stated by the American Association of School Librarians)
