Our topic in term 3 and 4 is 

World War 2.

We will begin by learning about the history of the war and which countries were involved, who the main leaders were and why the war started.

We will be reading Rose Blanche - a picture book about a little girl who witnessed the war in Germany.

After half term we will focus our attention on the effects of the war in Great Britain - the home front and the evacuation of children.  We will visit Horton Kirby in March, dress as evacuees, experience the air raid siren and sit in an Anderson shelter.  We will read Goodnight Mr Tom to help us with our understanding of wartime Britain.
