FACILITATORS

A LEADER AMONG EQUALS

Your role as a facilitator is fundamental to the success of our Professional Learning Day!

The sessions should not be thought of as presentations but more as meaningful conversations among faculty and administrators. It is our hope that everybody finds value in their participating in the conversations throughout the day.

As a facilitator please use these questions as a guide to introduce your session:
            - Why is this session topic important to you?
            - How is it relevant to your teaching?
            - What direct connections to student learning can you identify?

Ideally you should spend about 10-15 minutes laying the foundation for a relevant discussion. After your introduction, your job is to guide our colleagues in sharing their own experiences and exploring those of others.

You may use the Facilitator Questions given on the link to your session or use your own!

A FEW TIPS:

- Be a good listener
- Try to give everybody a fair share of time
- Do not downplay other teacher's ideas and push personal viewpoints as the “right” answer
