All goals have been accomplished!
1a. Teachers promote, support, and model creative and innovative thinking and inventiveness.
Designed and established new [DIGITAL] Fashion Design, Architecture, Animation courses. All courses require creative expression, innovation within that context of creativity and the construction and demonstration of inventiveness by creating actual products.
1b. Teachers engage students in exploring real-world issues and solving authentic problems using digital tools and resources.
Students learn about the general engineering design process, plan a design, design and construct using CAD program, do analyses, modify the design, re-analyze, for better prototype design. Although not a specific problem, students do "practice" the design process that all engineering projects undergo. http://littletimothysworld.net/parish-computer-studies
1d. Teachers model collaborative knowledge construction by engaging in learning with students, colleagues, and others in face-to-face and virtual environments. *
Created "The Suessical, Behind the Scenes" Video in partnership and cooperation of entire musical cast and directors.
2a. Teachers design or adapt relevant learning experiences that incorporate digital tools and resources to promote student learning and creativity.
All of the course taught use current, industry standard digital tools. Successful execution and practice relies on these tools and most of the courses demand creative expression and demonstration.
3b. Teachers collaborate with students, peers, parents, and community members using digital tools and resources to support student success and innovation. *
Helped with the creation of digital environment for student project. "The Pyramid"
3c. Teachers communicate relevant information and ideas effectively to students, parents, and peers using a variety of digital-age media and formats. *
Developed visually rich website to communicate computer courses, homework, projects, etc. using well-known Web 2.0 and open-source applications. http://littletimothysworld.net/parish-computer-studies
Have used Skype to provide real-time instruction/tutoring to AP students. Other real-time apps currently being explored.
4a. Teachers advocate, model, and teach safe, legal, and ethical use of digital information and technology, including respect for copyright, intellectual property, and the appropriate documentation of sources.
Students are required to produce original work for projects.
Other resources may be used as inspiration or templates, but final digital items must be of original design or properly assigned credit.
5b. Teachers exhibit leadership by demonstrating a vision of technology infusion, participating in shared decision making and community building, and developing the leadership and technology skills of others.
5c. Teachers evaluate and reflect on current research and professional practice on a regular basis to make effective use of existing and emerging digital tools and resources in support of student learning. *
Have created relationships with local architect & firm and fashion designer to help in the development of course content so that current practices are demonstrated and communicated within the digital courses taught. Software selection is also based upon this relationship.
