1b. Teachers engage students in exploring real-world issues and solving authentic problems using digital tools and resources.
  • In both Algebra 2 and Precalculus, the students input collected data to their calculator and then use the calculator to determine the line of best fit, demonstrating how equations might be determined in real life situations.
1c. Teachers promote student reflection using collaborative tools to reveal and clarify students' conceptual understanding and thinking, planning, and creative processes.
  •   I use the Navigator Quick Poll to question the entire class and determine understanding as I teach.  It gives immediate feedback to both the student and me.  I also use it for review and practice.
  • The Navigator Activity Center is used to enhance student's understanding of the connections between algebraic equations and their graphs.
2a. Teachers design or adapt relevant learning experiences that incorporate digital tools and resources to promote student learning and creativity.
  • I embedded a link to a you tube video in my smartboard notes that I left for my substitute hopefully promoting a better understanding of the steps involved in solving absolute value equations
