We run a number of different types of events during the year.  In addition we can be contacted to run events for groups or schools who might want a fish archaeological, historic cooking, or aquatic ecology experience.

Festival Events

We will again be at the Festival of Ideas talking about fishing, cooking, archaeology, and ecology in collaboration with York Explore Library and the British Ecological Society.  We are happy to participate in historical festivals to talk about archaeology, fishing, ecology, and cooking.  We even have a mock ecosystem so kids and adults can she how different fishing methods effect the ecosystem thanks to the British Ecologcal Society!  Save the date for 8-9 June 2018.

Past Events Include: Festival of Ideas 2016, 2017; YorNight 2015

Speaking Events

In the past Dr. Richter has spoken at the Cawood Historical Society (2018) University of the Third Age in Ripon (2017) and 3D Archaeology in Harrogate (2017) about fish archaeology and ecology.  She also has participated in multidisciplinary conferences such as The Bountiful Sea Conference on Mediterranean fish production and consumption.  If you are interested in having her speak at your event, please contact her.

Dinner Events

We are planning future dinner events where a fish related meal will be accompanied by a research talk.  If you are interested in hosting a dinner event for a group, please contact us.

Workshops for Schools

We just did a fun 2 hour workshop for Cawood Primary school (2018) on their local history of fishing and fish consumption.  All enjoyed learning about history and fish.  If you are interested in hosting us at your school or youth group, please contact us.

Past Events Include: Science Trails 2017, 2018.
