OFFICIAL PINEWOOD DERBY RULES 2011

Pinewood Derby is Saturday, February 11th.  Attached are rules governing construction of the cars to ensure all entries have an equal chance of winning.  PLEASE REVIEW RULES.  Each year we have one or two cars that cannot pass check-in, and cannot race because of how they built the car.  What a disappointment for the boys.  Also, cars can be purchased for Siblings race or Dad race entries at pack meeting (~$4.00), or at scout shop.

When soliciting race sponsors to support the Pinewood Derby, there are a few tools that we have found helpful.  See "Resources" link to left to access and download these files.
1. Announcement - Has all Sponsor details on it. Can be handed to and left with the sponsor. My name at bottom, but you can change to yours.
2. Sponsor Cartoon - Cartoon I used to teach Jordan difference between Race Sponsor (2 levels) and Car Sponsor (1 level)
3. Race Sponsor Certificates - Race Sponsor Certificate. We frame and Cub presents to Sponsor at place of business after the race day.
4. Picture - I try to take a picture also. This is Mike Bouchard of Sparkle Car Wash

Pinewood Derby Race Sponsor Certificates

posted Jan 5, 2011, 6:20 PM by Pack 180CT

An important part of encouraging race sponsors to participate again next year is to express our appreciation for this years support and tell them how their contribution helps Pack 180.  Parents of scouts who helped raise funds this year have been contacted and Appreciation Certificates have been delivered, or made available, along with car stands for those sponsors who entered a car on race day.  Scouts should deliver the Certificate of Appreciation, with the Sponsor Car, in person and in uniform.  This teaches the scout the importance of expressing appreciation and it makes for a memorable occassion for the sponsor.  A photo with the scout presenting the certificate also makes for a memory that can be shared.

welcome
