  • Advancement modifications you can implement right away Announcing modifications to Cub Scouting that make the program more flexible for busy parents, den leaders, and Cubmasters. With a full year of experience in delivering the new Cub Scouting program, feedback suggests that some den leaders are having difficulty fitting all of the adventures required for rank advancement into their program year. This is resulting in boys not advancing. After a thorough review, modifications have been implemented to address this concern. What are the modifications? Some adventure requirements that previously were mandatory are now optional. The modifications, which take effect immediately, are designed to give den leaders more flexibility, while retaining rich program options that best meet the needs of their den.   • Bake It Forward Den Leaders: One of the best aspects of Cub Scouting is instilling a sense of community and responsibility to "give back" when we can and the importance of service "to help other people at all times". There is a local student in Indian Hill who has created a non-profit entitled Bake-Me-Home. I have enclosed the correspondence from her to me regarding children participating in the program. This could be a great service project or effort which also includes "baking" or cooking something at a Den Meeting or at home as individuals.
