Design First Look

Exciting times! The design first look offers a high-level creative overview of our new website. The new design establishes a global look and feel for the development of our university website.

Walk Right into Pacific University
Our new website has an open, clean design that ushers website visitors into our campuses. The new website design invites our visitors to walk into Pacific University through the dramatic use of large, full-bleed background images showing the campuses and its settings. These images convey a strong sense of Pacific University and the experience of our university. Deeper level pages tighten to a cleaner, more utilitarian layout with a white background.

Our Home Page
The content on our website is organized specific to the audience and the home page of our externally facing site focuses on student recruitment, and is geared to prospective students.

There is also an easy to use menu at the very top of the home page that provides access to MyPacific, for current students (undergraduate and graduate and professional) as well as our faculty and staff. All 3 MyPacific menu options are visible at the top of the page. MyPacific creates the feeling of home pages for our internal audiences, with content designed specifically for them. The MyPacific pages can also be accessed directly, similar to how Online Tools are often used today.

If you are interested in checking out the entire structure of the site visit wireframes. These were shared a few months ago, and we had Open Forums with the Pacific community to review and discuss. Please note that as we have now moved into creative, some minor changes have occurred that are not reflected in the wireframes ... because they were developed prior to creative.

Placeholder Text
The content (i.e. call outs, text, photos, etc.) serves as placeholders. We have not started creating new content such as call outs or new pages.

Next Steps
Additional design work is now underway, for sub-page comps, which will be created next.
