The Student Council plays a significant role at the Oxford Middle School.  It acts as a liaison between the student body and the administration.  Student Council is also to provide service to the school, such as helping during Spirit Week or other school sponsored activities, and service to the community, for example running our Thanksgiving Food Drive or other activities.

Elections are held every year for the positions of President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer.  Students in 7th and 8th grade ONLY may run for officer positions.  Students in grades 6-8 who simply want to be part of Student Council as reps may do so without an election if the number interested is less than or equal to 10.  No student can be part of the Student Council if they were required to attend summer school, have had excessive absences/tardies, or have had major disciplinary actions assessed to them. (Please see the Oxford Middle School Student Handbook for more information) 6th, 7th and 8th graders running for a representative position must have their nomination forms completed and signed by all their academic teachers to run. ALL MEMBERS must also maintain an average of 70, or above, in each core subject area.
