Dear Students and Families,

This week in Fundations we will be working on recognizing short and long vowel sounds.  We will continue to identify beginning and ending sounds in words.  The students will be blending cvc words and segmenting and spelling cvc words.

For our Wonders Program, we are starting Unit 5 Week 3.  Our essential question that we will be focusing on is: What kind of things grow on a farm?  Our genre this week will be focusing on Informational Text.  For our comprehension skills we will be focusing on main topic and key details.  Our strategy for comprehension that we will be working on is rereading.  Students will begin to identify pronouns.

In Math we are still working on Topic 7- Understanding Addition  Students will be joining two groups to find the sum.  They will use the plus sign and equal sign to write an addition sentence.
In addition, we will be working together to create a positive and safe environment for all.  The students will have many social interaction opportunities with their peers during our Centers, ELA, and Math.

As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me.

Thank you in advance,
Mrs. Higgins
