Welcome to Mr. Harvey's Math class. Below, I have attached your class syllabus. Please feel free to click and save for your own records.

I am very happy to be teaching this year's geometry classes at Oxford High School. This is my first year working in this district and my fourth year as a Math Teacher. I look forward to a fun and productive 2016-2017 school year. If you have any questions at all please contact me at charvey@oxps.org.

Geometry emphasizes the development of inductive and deductive reasoning and concise creative thinking. Students use what they learn about points, lines, triangles, polygons, and circles to solve numerical and algebraic geometry problems. The study of right triangle trigonometry and transformations are also included.

In all of my classes, students will learn to do the following:
  1. Make sense of problems and persevere in solving them.
  2. Reason abstractly and quantitatively.
  3. Construct viable arguments and critique the reasoning of others.
  4. Model with mathematics.
  5. Use tools strategically.
  6. Attend to precision.
  7. Look for and make use of structure.
  8. Look for and express regularity in repeated reasoning.
