February 4 - 8:

The biography poster project is due on Friday, February 15. Please follow the rubric that was sent home with the poster.

In ELA, the genre of our stories this week is biography.  We will focus on author's point of view and main idea and supporting details.

During our ELA block, we are using the "Just Words" program.  This unit, we are exploring multi-syllabic words and suffix endings.

This quarter, our focus is on informative writing.

In math, we are exploring measurement of both the U.S. Customary System and the Metric System. 

Our focus this week in social studies is using a  map legend and cardinal and intermediate directions.

Your child may bring in valentines for the class on February 14 if they choose to do so. (This is voluntary.)  If valentines are sent in, please be sure there is one for each student (We have 26 students in our class). Please do not sent in any candy or food for distribution.

Monday - Music

Tuesday - Physical Education (Wear comfortable clothes and sneakers.)

Wednesday -  Computer

Thursday - Library (Remember to bring your library book back to school.)

Friday - Art

Lunch/Recess    11:45 - 12:25

Please bring a healthy snack and drink daily to be eaten in the classroom.

***Good school attendance is vital to student learning and success. It's important that students are in school all day and on time each day.
***Homework completion is very important to learning success. Please ensure that your child is completing and returning
homework.  The planner should also be signed daily by a parent/guardian.

****Students should be reading at least 20 minutes a night at home.
