Learning through Play first session

Lucas chose the washing line and sequenced the story and retold it using different voices for the characters.  He was amazing!
Brandon and Sophie chose the sensory trays and retold the story using the characters and materials in the trays.  They then played their own game of hide and seek using the characters, working on their language development and turn taking skills.  Fabulous work Brandon and Sophie!

On Friday Room 2 visited Lomond Shores.  We went to the park and Thorntons Café.  The sun was shining and we had a wonderful day!  Here are some pictures to enjoy.  Some of our pictures will become part of our new book all about 'I see'...this will add to our sight word vocabulary.

Great start to a new school year in Room 2!

The children have been very busy since school started.  It has been all change in Room 2 and the children and staff have been enjoying getting to know one another.  The Talking Tubs we sent home over the summer were a super way to do this and the children thoroughly enjoyed sharing their news, pictures and other items.  A huge thank you to all the parents for helping make this such a success for the children.  The children have been enjoying plenty of exercise in the mornings with our Monday morning 'Wake up, Shake up', Tuesday morning Fizzy Gym, Wednesday morning football and Thursday morning Gym.  I have attached a few pictures for you to enjoy, showing some of the learning opportunities taking place in Room 2.

Sports Week part 3

Yet another great day...this time we had football in the morning, followed by potted sports in the afternoon.  For potted sports the children are put into groups along with other children from p1-p7.  They all work together to earn points for their teams.  Again, all the children tried really hard and did their best. Here are a some pictures from today.

Sports Week part 2

What another fantastic day for sports week.  The children are having a great time and enjoying being so active.  Today we did a cross country style run - up hills, around trees, over logs, through willow and over steps.  Then we did the high jump in Room 2.  The children had to decide if they wanted to put the rope higher or lower so that they could jump over it.  Lastly, this afternoon we had sports day.  All the children did extremely well and tried their very best at every event.  Mrs Smith, Alison and Pauline are very proud of them all.
