In 2011, the Scottish Government announced a manifesto commitment stating that children from Primary 1 to Primary 7 should be involved in language learning in schools.  The government released the 1+2 Languages Report, which stated that every learner will learn two languages in addition to their own mother tongue.
This session, all primary schools in West Dunbartonshire will begin teaching a second Language across all stages. Primary schools in the Clydebank High Cluster have chosen to implement Spanish.

Your child will learn simple Spanish phrases and vocabulary, including greetings, feelings, colours, days of the week, etc. They will also be introduced to basic classroom commands, such as sit down, listen, show me, etc.

Last year we held a very successful Spanish concert hosted by Primaries 1-3! The support from the parents/carers was phenomenal! Gracias!
