Ottawa is located in the Ottawa Valley in the eastern portion of Southern Ontario.  La Ville d'Ottawa, as it is known in French, lies on the southern banks of the Ottawa River, a major waterway forming the local boundary between the Provinces of Ontario and Quebec. The 2006 Census recorded the population at over 812,000, making it the fourth largest municipality in the country and second largest in Ontario. The City of Gatineau on the northern shores of the Ottawa River and Ottawa together had a combined 2006 population of over 1,130,000, making the Ottawa-Gatineau region the fourth largest metropolitan area in terms of population.  With a large and diverse population, Ottawa is home to numerous martial arts organizations.

There are strong Karate and Jui-jitsu programs in Ottawa as well as many Tae Kwon Do clubs.  The number of Chinese martial arts organizations are small but active.  Ottawa is the home of the Ottawa Chinese Martial Arts Association and we strive to keep the spirit of Chinese Martial Arts alive!
