AP Lang. & Comp.‎ > ‎

Dear Students & Families,

Welcome to my class! I look forward to a fun and exciting sixth year at Craftsbury. On each page you will find posted homework assignments for each class separately, as well as class syllabi/overviews/guidelines. Please visit my Schoology page (your child has access), if I have instructed you to turn something in digitally. Schoology will be the learning management system employed for each class. For Senior Seminar, Google Classroom will be the learning management system employed. Enjoy!

In addition to my classroom teaching responsibilities, I am also a class advisor for the class of 2023, and a co-coordinator for the senior capstone project. I also serve as the Craftsbury rep on the local/regional standards board for teacher relicensure.

Please do not hesitate to email me directly if there is any confusion!

Ms. McGill

Personal Philosophy:

About Me: I am a native of King of Prussia, Pennsylvania where I attended Upper Merion Area High School from 2005-2009. I am one of four children, all of whom still reside in Pennsylvania. Upon graduation in 2009, I traveled to Southern Vermont to attend a private, liberal arts college (Green Mountain College) for four years to study secondary education with a focus in English. While at GMC, I was a four-year member of the NCAA Division III women's soccer team as well as the softball team, and captain of the soccer team my senior year. I was president of the Student Athletics Advisory Committee, an active member of the Education Club, a member of Amnesty International, and I was also the on-campus ambassador for Team IMPACT. I graduated from GMC in 2013 and moved to Hyde Park, Vermont to teach at Lamoille Union High School as a long-term sub in the English department. From there, I went to Hazen Union High school to finish up the 2013-2014 school year as a long-term sub teaching 7th grade English. I began teaching at CA in the fall of 2014, and I am currently in my sixth year at Craftsbury Academy; I teach high school English for grades 9-12. I will graduate in the spring of 2020 with me M.Ed and shortly thereafter will earn my administrative endorsement, all through Southern New Hampshire University.
