Orleans Southwest Supervisory Union School Board Meeting
On March 25th, the communication team led board members from all seven school districts in a series of activities to engage them in dialogue to understand the “why” of school redesign and student centered learning. The students reflected on their most valuable educational experiences and board members shared their excitement and questions about Act 77 implementation. View more

Community Focus Forum: Act 77 Flexible Pathways
On April 8th, Hazen students and staff presented information on Act 77 to a group of about 20 school community members. Principal Michael Moriarty and Associate Principal John Craig provided a high level overview of emerging planning efforts and the group had an hour discussion. View more


Shaping Our Future Together
The Hazen Communication Team is part of a 
larger coordinated effort called Shaping Our Future Together. The goal is to build public understanding and support for  Act 77 Flexible Pathways and student-centered learning change efforts - orchestrated by youth and adults in equal measure.


Letters to the Editor
The team has published a series of editorials in our local newspaper, The Hardwick Gazette. Each letter featured a stakeholder writing about one component of Flexible Pathways. Our goal was to build understanding and support in our community for Act 77 from different perspectives: 

Act 77 Introductory Video
Through a grant from Vermont Principals Association and with the help of local videographer Meredith Holch, students and staff createdan introductory video on Act 77 Flexible Pathways. The group hopes to create additional videos as the planning and implementation effort continues over the next year and beyond.
