What should I have already achieved?

NCEA Level 1 English. This course caters for Year 13 students who have not attained Level
2 UE Literacy. The focus is on standards that carry Level 2 Reading and/or Writing Credits.
The intention of this course is not to offer 14 Level 3 English credits for University Entrance
requirements. Students who have attained some Level 2 credits but have not met the Level
3 ENG prerequisites, and therefore need a reduced Level 3 English Course should choose
this option.

What will I learn?

The course will focus on Reading and Writing standards. You will learn how to select and develop ideas for writing, how to structure ideas, and how to proof-read for high levels of accuracy in your writing. You will also self-select a range of written and visual texts for viewing and study.  The course content is personalised for individual student needs.

How will this course be assessed?

The course offers each candidate at least two internal standards and at least one                           external standard.

Will there be any FAO?  (Further Assessment Opportunities)

All the internal standards in this course are portfolio assessments, thus there are no FAOs.
