The NCCE Conference is a long tradition in the Northwest.... We have four sessions this year. Two are workshops: Wed on photo editing and Google and Thursday is an Introduction to the Apps. Thursday and Friday are 1 1/2 sessions on the basics of Google Apps

Tuesday Pre-conference Workshop:  Digital Photography and Google Apps
Teachers will receive a photo assignment using the Google Sites hosted Digital Photo course. They will take photos and then learn how to edit them using the Picasa image editing application. After editing images they will publish them using Picasa Web and Google presentation. The final collection of works will be embedded in web sites using Google Docs. At the end of the workshop, teachers can click on "Use this templete" to get a complete working copy of the course for their own Google Site.

Wednesday Pre-conference Workshop:  Intro to Google Apps
Overview of Google Apps for education - Hands-on experience with several apps ( sites, docs, calendars, spreadsheets,forms, presentations) - Tips and tricks

Thursday Session: Google Apps and student publishing
In 1971, NCCE was founded. In the same year, The New York Times published the Pentagon Papers. We'll use that event as a backdrop to explore Google Apps as a student publication suite. Participants will learn how the integrated set of tools can build an online newspaper.
